Have any questions about travelling on the new Noosa North Shore Ferries, how to buy tickets or about Resident Landowner concession travel? We’ve got the answers here – but if the answer you’re looking for isn’t below, feel free to get in touch.

Purchasing Tickets

Our new ferries will also see a big upgrade in the way you can pay for tickets. You can still pay with cash onboard, but you will also have the option for EFTPOS or Credit Card payment onboard, or prepurchase tickets online before travel to streamline your boarding process. You can buy online tickets here.

Noosa North Shore Residents, Landowners and Workers will have their own unique concession cards and accounts that can be loaded with credited and used to pay for crossings. You can learn more about our Concession Cards here.

No, but you can. Tickets will continue to be sold on the ferry, however pre-purchased tickets offer several advantages:

  • Buying your tickets online before you travel streamlines the process on the day of travel, as you can simply present the QR code when boarding, so you don’t need to spend time purchasing at the ferry
  • Tickets purchased online are valid till the 30th June each year, so if your travel plans change (or you want to stay longer!) you can use your tickets on a different date – just keep that QR code safe!

Yes! Cash will still be accepted onboard.

You can view ferry pricing and purchase tickets here.

Passengers are responsible for tickets once purchased.

Tickets that are damaged or become illegible for validation or scanning, will be deemed invalid. Tickets purchased online can be downloaded again using the link in the booking confirmation email.

There are no refunds for lost or damaged tickets.

No – we are happy to scan the QR code from your mobile phone.

General Ferry FAQs

We do not set ticket prices; these are set by the Noosa Council as per the Local Government Regulation 2012. Noosa Council set the fees in its annual budget meeting. The ferry prices can be found here.

Travelling North from Noosa, head directly down Moorindil Street, Tewantin.

Travelling South from the Noosa North Shore Cooloola Recreation Area, you MUST exit the beach at third cutting, onto the wilderness track, following the road past the Noosa North Shore Beach Campground, and the Noosa North Shore Retreat, along Maximillion Road to the Ferry crossing. Don’t forget to only travel at low tide when transiting along the Cooloola Recreation Area, and stay off the dunes.

Permits for camping and/or driving within the Noosa North Shore Cooloola Recreation Area can be booked via the Queensland National Parks website here.

More information about the Cooloola region can be found at the DESI website here.

Please note: It is recommended that you book well in advance (at least six weeks) for the most popular camping spots, especially during peak periods like public and school holidays.
